I got a call over a year ago from my aunt Jackie. An amazing woman that I have always admired. She spends her life traveling and writing about her experiences. One of my favorite adventures of hers is when she lived with the hobos and jumped trains. What a woman! Read more HERE. She's always off on a wonderfully wild trip and I have only ever dreamed of joining her. Finally the call came. It was one of those moments you could only wish for, you really had no control of it, it was only going to happen if it was meant to be. I was so ecstatic as the words came out of her mouth. "I would love for you to join me on this upcoming trip to India".....ABSOLUTELY!

My bags are packed (umm, ok I lied, not quite yet!) and my flight leaves this in just a few days! We are backpacking off the beaten path. MY KIND OF TRIP! I rarely can find a travel partner that is willing to get this far into the nitty gritty culture and away from our daily conveniances. We have a detailed itinerary to visit remote villages of the Kutch district, slums of Dharavi, stepwells, visit THE last original family that does a specific method of Indian traditions such as (Double Ikat) and (Rogan painting), A safari in Sasan Gir National Park where it is the only habitat of the Asiatic Lion.
